This is the cover to the ebook I’ve just completed. It’s available HERE on my website for only $4.99 or 50% off if you want to share it on your social networks (just follow the share option at checkout). There are also some sample pages there if you want to see a teaser before you take the plunge and spend a few bucks.
In short, the book is about what it takes to make images in the world’s wild places. In the Author’s note I write:
“Wild places offer enormous opportunities for photographers willing to explore. There are chances to make unique images, not just new perspectives or interpretations of already well-photographed landscapes. The challenges, however, are as unique and abundant as the opportunities. Access, weather, equipment, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to open oneself mentally to the moment, are challenges difficult to overcome.
In this ebook, I discuss my experiences facing, and occasionally overcoming these and other obstacles. I do not intend for this to be a book of photographic recipes. Photography is, like any worthwhile art, highly individual. Rather, I hope this book provides some insight into what it takes to make successful images under what are often trying and difficult circumstances. There will be some practical how-to’s, discussion of equipment, tips, advice, and photographic philosophy. Follow them at your own risk.”
I had the great help of some wonderful photographers and guides who took the time to review this ebook before publication including Patrick Endres, Milo Burcham, Dan Rizzolo, Cameron Baird, Michael Wald, and Amy Turner. Thanks to all of you!
Again, here’s the link to the book: The Quiet Landscape.
